Rush Limbaugh's interests with Sandra Fluke has begun to wane.

Faced with sponsors leaving his program in droves and the loss of 2 radio stations, he has found a new object for his affection, attention,   attack.

And of course to prove he's not a misogynist the person of interest is female, Tracie McMillan.

What did she do to earn his wrath?

She's young, single (because we all know SINGLE woman are the source of all evil in the world) and she's educated.

No seriously, he attacked her for being educated.

What is it with all of these young single white women, overeducated — doesn’t mean intelligent.  For example, Tracie McMillan, the author of this book, seems to be just out of college and already she has been showered with awards, including the 2006 James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism.  Social justice journalism.  This woman who wrote the book on food inequality, food justice, got an award for social justice journalism.
- Rush Limbaugh, March 6, 2012
Tracie McMillan has written a book, "The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee's, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table", a book about food.  Which is probably why it got Rush's attention (oh and Rush, you might want to stay away from shirts with wide white and black horizontal stripes).
What if you can’t afford nine-dollar tomatoes? That was the question award-winning journalist Tracie McMillan couldn’t escape as she watched the debate about America’s meals unfold, one that urges us to pay food’s true cost—which is to say, pay more. So in 2009 McMillan embarked on a groundbreaking undercover journey to see what it takes to eat well in America. For nearly a year, she worked, ate, and lived alongside the working poor to examine how Americans eat when price matters.

It sounds like something we've had diaries about here.  I'll admit, I haven't read it.  But neither have two 1 star reviewers who posted today on Amazon, one pretty much saying everything Rush said in the clip above, both parroting the party line.
Less thrilling to her was Limbaugh attacking her for being female, single and educated. “It just didn’t really occur to me that my being single would have any bearing on whether whether my book was valid,” she says. “It seems to be a way to dismiss my intelligence or capacity to do the work.”
- Forbes
College drop out, Rush Limbaugh authored* his  first book in 1993 "The Way Things Ought to Be".
Rush Limbaugh Rush Limbaugh was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a "quintessential Midwestern small town," where he fell in love with radio in elementary school. He became a Top-40 deejay in the 1960s and held various other jobs before finding his true calling as a radio talk show host at KFBK in Sacramento, California. In 1988 his radio show went national, and it can now be heard in 616 markets across the country. Rush Limbaugh makes his home in New York City and divides his time among his daily radio show, speaking engagements, and his nationally syndicated television show.
- book blurb
He started in radio at 16 in 1967.  His show went "national" in 1988 meaning it was being offered to stations nationally. He didn't get 616 stations, oops, 614 stations all at once. He published his first book when he was 42.

Tracie McMillan's bio reads of a less priviledged childhood than Rush had (the son of a prominent lawyer in a family of lawyers and judges), her mother died when she was 16 (their health insurance company refusing to pay for her mother's care - then they lost their health insurance all together). She took her first job at 14.  It seems she's even amended her bio today to make sure no one thinks she is an elitist.  This is who Rush Limbaugh picks on.

Maybe it's jealousy that she's gotten so much so quickly (due to work) in her 20s, that he had to wait until his late 30s to begin to achieve,  (You know that damned preferential treatment smart young females get.) that's lead him on the attack.  Maybe it's food.

Or maybe it's just . . .

But this really intense dismissal of women by someone like Rush Limbaugh, who’s considered an authority by a lot of people — that, to me, is distressing. I just wasn’t expecting anybody to say flat out that my work wasn’t valid because I’m a single woman.”

She also takes exception to Limbaugh’s calling her “over-educated.” “I only have a B.A. I don’t have an advanced degree,” she says. “Maybe he thinks women shouldn’t go to college at all?”
-Forbes

. . . that he's a misogynist.

And after 2 years of the Republican war on women, we've had enough.

In the 1990s Rush used the analogy of a buggy whip factory going out of business because of new technology, new attitudes, and a country moving forward.  We were at that time moving from an industrial economy to a service economy, and people were scared, for their jobs, their livelihoods, and of change.  He would tell them that we shouldn't hold on to outdated industry just because it kept people employed.  Times change, we move forward, and buggy whips become a thing of the past.

Misogyny is the buggy whip.  And Rush, you are the buggy whip factory.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
