On Friday afternoon, May 15, we introduced the Weekly Poll of Available GOP Candidates in the interests of assisting the GOP Thought Manipulators in selecting their 2016 Candidate. There were over 100 votes cast in the interest of providing the GOP an insight into who the Readers of the Daily Kos thought would be the best candidate to keep the prying eyes of legislators away from their arms arsenals while monitoring the health concerns and vaginas of their wives', daughters' and sisters' reproductive choices.
The Big News this week is that Dr. Ben Carson topped the list in the Southern Regional leadership Conference held in Oklahoma City with 25% of the Straw Vote Poll. Governor Scott Walker came in 2nd with 20% and Senator Ted Cruz came in 3rd with 16%. The results of the SRLC seem to show that the GOP Thought Manipulators are taking the advice of the Readers of the Daily KOS quite seriously. The Daily KOS poll seems to be faring quite well!
Last week, the Poll Question asked, " Who do you MOST like as the GOP presidential candidate in 2016?
Some concerns were raised about the meaning of the word "Like". I agree that it is difficult to "Like" a Republican, unless they happen to be a friend or family member and you simply ignore all political issues.
This Morning, the Poll Question will be phrased differently,
Who do You WANT to see the GOP Nominate in 2016 for President?
Most polls frame their questions in an attempt to gather data that reinforces a preconceived opinion. Now, in running this series of polls, I will attempt to be honest and reveal exactly why I am phrasing the question the way it is phrased and why the responses are ordered in the manner they are. Also, responses to polls depend on the dates that the data is gathered. For instance, the first poll was published on a Friday and the Daily Kos has a different set of Readers on Friday afternoon than on other days of the week. Today's Poll is scheduled for a Tuesday morning, following a three-day weekend, and the next poll will be scheduled for a Sunday morning.
The first week's Poll listed as many of the Candidates in the Poll as there were spots available, and the Candidates were listed in the alphabetical order by their last name. It was a close call, but Dr. Ben Carson and "Somebody Else" edged out Senator Ted Cruz. This Week's Poll will be in the Order of Selection from the First Week's poll with Dr. Ben Carson taking the top spot, followed by "Somebody Else". Although Dr. Carson and "Somebody Else" were tied for the lead, we will go with a named individual over the unnamed entity
Governor John Kasich received only one vote of 115 votes cast and he will be replaced this week by another Somebody Else, Mr. Donald Trump, to see if the Readers of Daily Kos can continue to assist the Thought Manipulators of the GOP in their process of selecting a candidate. Mr. Trump showed up on Steve Kornacki's list of the Top 10 contenders this week on Sunday Morning's UP, showing up with an astounding 1.6% in the last 5 National polls.
Readers of Daily Kos may not be able to participate in the Iowa Caucus, the New Hampshire Primary or the other early states, but perhaps the Daily Kos Weekly Poll will be of some assistance to the GOP Thought Manipulators in their final selection process. The Daily KOS is truly a National Poll and definitely should be considered by Faux Snoooze in their selection for the First Debate.
If you have an Idea as to the identity of "Somebody Else", or in the method of "Somebody Else's" selection, please don't hesitate to provide a suggestion. I have to confess that I was sorely tempted to offer Vladimir Putin in this week's poll, however Mr. Putin has some of the same disqualifying characteristics as Senator Ted Cruz, having been born in a foreign country with a father who was born in a another communist country, but this does not seem to matter so much to the GOP Thought Manipulators. I decided that I would replace Mr. Kasich with another candidate from Rachel Maddow's list of remaining contenders for the nomination. Rachel lists 18 contenders so we still have former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore, former NY Governor George Pataki and former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich to go through.
This is truly a National Poll, taken of the Readers of the Daily Kos, and I see no reason that this Poll should not also be considered when Faux Snoooze decides to begin their selection of the Top 10 Candidates. I encourage as many of the Readers of the Kos as possible to assist the GOP. The GOP are truly in a dilemma. The Clown Car is full and they really, really need to find somebody who can represent the GOP!
Also, If you have some suggestions for "Somebody Else" as a potential Candidate, please don't be shy. Make a suggestion. Sure, Ronald Reagan slept through eight years of a presidency, but it did not prevent his minions from doing immeasurable harm to our nation. Maybe, Nancy Reagan is prepared for her own run.
Thanks for assisting the GOP in their efforts.
