Goodbye cruel South Carolina

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 06:39:41 PM PDT

I've spent half of my life in the Palmetto state, it's been okay. I haven't whithered, I haven't prospered, so goes my life in Columbia. Well no more, tomorrow I'm done. Done with this city and state. I'm picking up and moving to Vegas to get outa here while the gettins good. My puter broke some months back, and I don't really have the resources to get a new one. I also will be spending much time finding a job, trying to get a job dealing cards and playing much poker, as well as trips to LA and Pheonix to visit friends. Alas that will leave me with little time to wax poetic about issues of the day online, so this is officially my TTFN.
In a few months when I get settled, in a new house and not the apartment that will immediatly be my domicile, I will be back. However, much distaction I will have. Oh yeah, this is gonna be my back yard:
Photobucket

Seriously, I walk out of my apartment complex and into The Palms casino.
So, uh, guess I'll see you guys around.

Lets get real about Wright.

Lets honestly try and step outside our digital world and try and see things from the perspective of someone who doesn't surf the web from the perspective of our enightened views.

A few reasons to support the Dem nominee, whomever it is.

Tue Apr 01, 2008 at 11:14:21 AM PDT

So there's a few people running around thinking they would rather see a president McSame than the other dem candidate. Below are a few reasons to support whomever the nominee is whether it be Obama (most likely), Clinton (less likely), or some crazy convention coup by someone like Gore (very very unlikely, but being talked about).

Hooray for privatization of our public schools!

Fri Mar 21, 2008 at 03:09:27 PM PDT

The ACLU has recently filed a lawsuit against a privatly run alternative school for "problem" students in Atlanta. The ACLU charges in the lawsuit that the school is "failing so miserably that it violates their constitutional rights."

A response to the dkos boycott.

Okay, I'm hanging out at a friends house gettin my buzz on on a friday night and I feel I have to respond to the whole writers strike thing. Call me a scab! The views and opinions expressed in my diary are mine and mine alone. They do not represent any candidate or online entity. I will break it down over the flip

Olbermann you suck, thank you Keith:

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 09:11:34 PM PDT

and I think Dkos sux too because I can't responde via comment to Keith... well in that case I guess Keith doesn't suck,I just get to write a diary about it, I was sort of instructed too and I only write one a week which though they mostly are crap, they are more substantive than 50% of the diaries published daily, does this win some kind of award for run on sentance?  I'm sorry for the completly misleading title, the fact is I love you (Keith) man.
How can I count the ways? Well for starters speaking these words on the 5th aniversery of 9/11.

A call from Omaha for Obama

Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 12:31:27 PM PDT

Well more like a myspace bulletin, that's what I found just now when I logged on to check my account and change a few this in my profile that my buddy decided to change. BTW, I really need to remember to log out off such things when I use the internet at his house. So I saw a bulletin from my friend Cartantor whom lived with me two summers ago and has returned back to Nebraska. Now Cartantor is a real turkey, fun guy, loves to go to STS9 and Widespread show and be a real D-bag.
He's a really smart guy, and somewhat political, but I never took him as someone who would take time to actively campaign for anyone, well I was wrong. Make the jump to read his bulletin.

1,2, 3, What are we fighting for,

Fri Feb 22, 2008 at 09:17:27 PM PDT

don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Denver man.
I just want to throw out a non-candidate diary. Music inspires me, and sitting at home this saturday night, I'd like to pay tribute to musicians that go out on a branch to give us politicaly motivated music.
This is a candidate neutral diary, so please leave your preferences before the jump. I just want to share some music with everyone at home on saturday night. Most of the songs are anti-war, but I threw in a few others. So if you want to get down to some angst filled counter culture music this saturday night, make the jump.
I'm also open to suggestions.

Senior advisor for McCain says he'll quit campaign if Obama is nominee.

Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 03:58:40 PM PDT

Today Mark McKinnon, a senior advisor for the John McCain campaign, was interviewed by Michelle Norris on All things condsidered. During the interview they discussed the current state of the campaign, and McKinnon also stated that should Obama be the democratic nominee, he will not work for the campaign.

No knockouts, no big upsets, and Obama's 50 state strategy.

Take heart Obama Kossacks, they're not even done counting the votes yet, let alone the delegates. Everything went pretty much as best to be expected. MA and California are a little disapointing but Hillary had double digit leads in those states less than two weeks ago. Of course Hillary won big in New York, and it's looking like a decent win for her in California, but Obama creamed her in the heartland.

Barack Obama broke my mothers heart. (Thank You!)

Tue Jan 29, 2008 at 12:45:22 PM PDT

Any way you slice it, no matter the outcome of this election, it will be historic. We as democrats will (most likely) either nominate an african-american or a woman as our candidate for the first time ever. These possibilities have lead to a very spirited primary season that has made some people very passionate about the nomination of their chosen candidates. For every victory of a candidate and group, don't forget there is a loss felt, hard, out there among another.

Hillary goes negative in SC and the politics of subtraction.

Wed Jan 23, 2008 at 01:54:54 PM PDT

Well Obama isn't the only candidate with ads on the radio in South Carolina anymore. Today the Hillary Clinton campaign released a new negative radio ad on South Carolina's airwaves contorting Obama's comments in his interview with the Reno-Gazette-Journal. I guess all is fair in politics, and I guess dishonest ads to drive up your opponents negatives is standard for the Clintons, but will it drive down turnout in November?

In the air in Columbia, SC, MLK day edition.

Calling all Obama Kossacks,updated!

Thu Jan 03, 2008 at 08:21:48 PM PDT

Tonight is a big night. Our movement for change has been historical. Senator Barrack Obama is the first African-American to win the Iowa caucus. For those among us who've worked hard for this victory, we have earned the right to crow a little, but this is not the end of the road. This is only the end of the begining.

You are wasting your time!

Complicit!

Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 09:39:14 PM PDT

In Janurary I had a decent feeling things would run a bit different in Wasington. The Democratic party had won the midterms on promises to change course, and I was looking forward to giving this new congress a test drive. Well, since then, I have found many words to describe our new congress.
